(a joint committee of the
2008-2009 Objectives
1.
Discuss platform improvements, platform alternatives and platform
parameter requirements, survey faculty as needed, and make
recommendations to administration and eCollege
personnel as needed.
2. Formulate
requests for support for the Distance Education program, to inform
administration, through appropriate channels, of Distance Education needs.
3. Discuss
and develop and put into flowchart form best practices for protocols
surrounding the administrative aspects of implementing SMC policies and
procedures in an online environment.
4. Review
issues, as required, relating to DE interface with other campus
constituencies.
5. Solicit
input and participation from faculty new to teaching distance education courses
and expand outreach to experienced faculty via CCConfer or other technologies.
6. Update
and maintain the Distance Education Committee portion of the Academic Senate
Website.
7. Follow-up
and track the results of the implementation of the student evaluations of
online faculty.
